Welcome to those of you who decided to take us up on our ab and squat challenge for the month! If you’re wondering what the heck we’re talking about wander over to our March Monthly Update blog post and scroll to the bottom…it’ll catch you up. So we’re adding a new post about it (hopefully) each day this month. The idea is that we’re going to share our immediate thoughts and reactions (or whining and complaints) each day as we progress through March. Lydia is in italics, Annie is regular font. Remember that rest day we had? Yeah, that was pretty awesome. So back to the grind today. As much as I try, I can’t complain, I felt surprisingly okay with my abs and squats today. Maybe it was the rest day, or my nap, or that bar of chocolate I pounded down right beforehand, but I felt remarkably okay!! I wonder…could it be…might this be progress? Is there a chance my muscles are actually getting stronger? Or is this the calm before the storm? I suppose I’ll find out tomorrow when I get bumped up to 65 squats. Lord have mercy!!
So we’re back at it.Yesterday was a rest day. And stupidly I decided to take a TRX fusion class. I’ve done this class a bunch of times. Sometimes its pretty easy and fun. Other times it’s really hard and I’m sore for a week after. This was one of the “sore for a week after” classes. Why do I do silly things like this?! So my day with no squats was turned to my day of a million squats. I also had to run 12 miles today. Needless to say I’m not feeling very “rested”. The good news is the challenge didn’t bump us up to 65 squats! I’ve been reading about the benefits of epsom salt bath and have been finding most of what I’ve read to be true. I found this really good write up about it from beautyepic.com.
So I’ll be soaking and whining and hoping all this is doing something!
