Welcome to those of you who decided to take us up on our ab and squat challenge for the month! If you’re wondering what the heck we’re talking about wander over to our March Monthly Update blog post and scroll to the bottom…it’ll catch you up. So we’re adding a new post about it (hopefully) each day this month. The idea is that we’re going to share our immediate thoughts and reactions (or whining and complaints) each day as we progress through March. Lydia is in italics, Annie is regular font. Just hoping we survive it!
Um, okay, that was silly. After 70 squats, 45 sit ups, and 60 crunches yesterday we did 5 of each today? As a friend of ours so aptly put it, “Who comes up with this crap?” It felt remarkably easy, not that I’m complaining. With our long runs at their peak right now for half marathon training my muscles are…well…grumpy. Totally good with lower reps today, and apparently tomorrow too!!
5 squats, 5 sit-ups, 5 crunches…felt like nothing. So much so we did extra abs stuff. Yes, you read that right, Annie and I chose to do more than expected. There’s a first time for everything. What a change from day one! Its so encouraging to see changes and notice that I’m getting stronger…even if I’m the only one who cares see it. This easy day comes at a perfect time. I’m recovering from a long run, a strained hamstring, and gearing up to *hopefully* PR at the Shamrock and Roll 10k this weekend. Planning to take it easy so I’m at my full and immeasurable strength.
