Day 19 – Yay Down Days!!

Welcome to those of you who decided to take us up on our ab and squat challenge for the month!  If you’re wondering what the heck we’re talking about wander over to our March Monthly Update blog post and scroll to the bottom…it’ll catch you up.  So we’re adding a new post about it (hopefully) each day this month.  The idea is that we’re going to share our immediate thoughts and reactions (or whining and complaints) each day as we progress through March.  Lydia is in italics, Annie is regular font.  Just hoping we survive it!

March 19

Rest day yesterday, 5 of each exercise today…I may be in heaven.  My legs felt pretty good after our 10k this weekend (don’t worry, there will be more about that race soon).  Now after a full day of rest plus another day with only 5 squats, I’m getting downright cocky!! Day 26 through 30 are coming up soon enough however and I’m sure will knock my ego right back into place.  In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy these days with no aches, pains, or strains.  I could almost cry it feels so good.

Yes, these last two days have been amazing. Feels so good to have a break from being sore. We had a blast on Saturday when we ran the Shamrock & Roll 10k…I even got Annie to dress up! Be watching for our upcoming review. Anyway, back to the joys of only 5 squats, sit-ups and crunches. I’m definitely feeling stronger and toned…although I’m sure I’m the only one who can tell.

  1. Hey! What does rest day mean for you? For me, it usually means no dedicated exercises, but I end up running around doing stuff, lifting stuff around, and generally doing all the stuff that I don’t do on run days because *I have an extra hour*!. I think I might be doing something wrong… 😉

    1. Rest day for us right now means no abs or squats. We’re both currently run streaking (check out our blog post about it, it’s pretty fun) so on our down days we only run a mile. Because of how much we are running right now, we’re both proud believers in naps!! 🙂

  2. I survived Day 12 yesterday–the 45 sit-ups hurt. I’m having flashbacks of elementary school gym class when kids would try to cheat by bouncing their butts during sit-ups to gain momentum. It was tempting, LOL.

    1. Oooh, cheating is so tempting!! Just remember, our goal is 6 pack abs all perfectly formed. 🙂
