Welcome to those of you who decided to take us up on our ab and squat challenge for the month! If you’re wondering what the heck we’re talking about wander over to our March Monthly Update blog post and scroll to the bottom…it’ll catch you up. So we’re adding a new post about it (hopefully) each day this month. The idea is that we’re going to share our immediate thoughts and reactions (or whining and complaints) each day as we progress through March. Lydia is in italics, Annie is regular font. Just hoping we survive it!
March 20 & 21
Yes, that’s right, we missed a day. Not in the challenge…only in blogging about it. Considering yesterday was another light day, I think we’ll let it slide!! So yesterday felt good and relatively easy. Today, well, the squats are coming back. I think a large part of my problem today was looking ahead to the rest of the week. Oops. As I was working out today, however, I had a revelation. What if all these squats are part of why I PR’d at Sunday’s race (more about that in our race post to come)? I know that a fit ass is key to running, maybe I am actually getting stronger. Or maybe I was just lucky, or the course distance was off, or all that leprechaun green motivated me.
I thought it was a good idea to do weighted squats at the gym instead of body weight ones at home, let’s just say the 35 squats today were pretty painful. I did notice that the sit-ups were no big deal at all today. I feel stronger, which is new. I tried out some EnergyBits before my workout. I ran intervals, did legs and some abs. I felt really gold. We’re going to give a full review after Annie tries them, but I got super interested in the benefits of Spirulina Algae and am totally going to try more. All that to say, I’m feeling good and strong. My booty is looking firm, and my abs are strong yet still in hiding.
