Welcome to those of you who decided to take us up on our ab and squat challenge for the month! If you’re wondering what the heck we’re talking about wander over to our March Monthly Update blog post and scroll to the bottom…it’ll catch you up. So we’re adding a new post about it (hopefully) each day this month. The idea is that we’re going to share our immediate thoughts and reactions (or whining and complaints) each day as we progress through March. Lydia is in italics, Annie is regular font. Just hoping we survive it!
March 22 & 23
One. More. Week. One more week for my butt to magically appear and my abs to solidify into granite. Okay maybe that’s a little unrealistic, but I do think that I’ve become (slightly) stronger. Yesterday, Lydia and I did the challenge together. We both noticed how quickly we were able to whip out 45 squats. I even screwed up and did 60…which I think should’ve counted toward today, *sigh*. It’s kind of nice seeing a light at the end of the tunnel…even if the tunnel is all uphill from here. Now I feel like I should start thinking about if I want to continue squatting after our challenge. Decisions, decisions.
Okay, so here’s the 411 on my B.U.T.T….I know you’re all very curious. It’s big and always has been. After my fifth kid and 30th birthday, it seemed to not only be huge but also saggy. *Insert horrified gasp*. For the last five years or so I’ve been working to correct that problem. I’ve done workout videos, fitness classes, workouts from Pinterest…you name it I’ve done it. And although I have noticed a less dramatic amount of saggy-ness, I still was not super thrilled, I also wasn’t very consistent. Yesterday Annie and I were at the gym doing our squats and I noticed a considerable amount of lift in the tush. Hooray!! That being said, 55 squats is a lot and it goes up from here until the end of the month. I doubt my abs will make me as proud as my hiney, but a strong core is good, even if I’m the only one who knows about it…right?
