Day 30 – We Did It…Where’s Our Finisher’s Medal?!

Welcome to those of you who decided to take us up on our ab and squat challenge for the month!  If you’re wondering what the heck we’re talking about wander over to our March Monthly Update blog post and scroll to the bottom…it’ll catch you up.  So we’re adding a new post about it (hopefully) each day this month.  The idea is that we’re going to share our immediate thoughts and reactions (or whining and complaints) each day as we progress through March.  Lydia is in italics, Annie is regular font.  Just hoping we survive it!

Done, and not a moment too soon. Congratulations to everyone who completed the challenge!! We did it! We now have abs and asses of steel.  In my case, it’s steel that’s more the consistency of marshmallow but hey…I’ll take it.  All joking ass-ide (get it?) I have definitely noticed an improvement in my strength.  Squats have never been my strong point so focusing on them for a month kind of forced the issue.  I’m pretty sure I will never be someone with a juicy double (sorry Sir Mix Alot).  It still feels good knowing I can now do a decent squat though.  Gotta say however, those last few days were torturous on the old bum!!   Now it’s time to figure out April….

We did it!!! This challenge was no joke. We’re so proud of all of you who completed it with us! My booty is firm and round and my abs are strong yet still rooted in their insulated home of belly fat. But the sit-ups were done without a rest today and the worst part of it was the amount of time they took to complete. In all seriousness, there is a noticeable change in my ability to do full sit-up and a stupid amounts of squats. I’m happy we chose to do this challenge for a few reasons: The first is that I’m stronger for it, both in the tush and belly. Second, is I completed something really hard! Yay me! Now on to April. Summer is just around the corner and I’d like to be much more toned for swimsuit season. I’m happy about the results from this challenge and excited to take on another one!

We desperately need a new challenge for April. Give us your ideas! We wanna hear them!

    1. Planks…hmm…something we suck at on par with squats. That sounds traumatizingly interesting. 🤔

  1. I’d support a plank challenge (though I might die along the way!)
Another option would be something to do with arms – running keeps my lower half reasonably under control, but my arms look like floppy chicken wings.
